A Cornish businesswoman has launched her own catering company with the aim of offering a different approach to outside catering.

After 12 years as a graphic designer, Sarah Talbot has swapped her pantone chart for an apron and is looking to take a wholesome and passionate approach to creating food with her new venture – Miss Tea.

She explained: “I harvest, gather or catch many of the ingredients from the wild, making much of my food truly sustainable and seasonal, with its traceability down to a patch of hedgerow, field, river or rock.

“I have experienced a great deal of disappointment when it comes to buffet lunches and event food, no passion, no care and no attention to detail. I feel so passionately that I can do so much better.”

Already well known for her cake making skills, Talbot revealed her family history in catering, in particular her grandmother, a chef who cooked dishes throughout Great Britain for such dignitaries as Sir Winston Churchill.

“Food has been the biggest part of my life for such a long time, it’s my biggest passion and it only seems natural that I now share that with everyone and follow the career path that I really want,” she added.
