University Commercial Services Plymouth (UCSP) has expanded west of the Tamar after winning a contract to provide the catering at Cornwall’s three innovation centres.

In addition to providing event catering at the Pool, Tremough and Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centres, UCSP will be operating the buildings’ cafés.

UCSP is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Plymouth University and has its roots in the provision of services to the university’s students, staff and visitors.

Commercial services director, Matt Hodson, said: “This means that our primary focus is on excellent customer service, providing a quality product and ensuring excellent value for money. This is something that we are delighted to be bringing to the innovation centres.

“I know that our Cornish team are very much looking forward to working with Innovation Centre clients and management to ensure that they become part of the centre community. This will ensure that we provide a service which really enhances the experience of working in or visiting the centres.”

Richard Snell, manager at the Tremough Innovation Centre, added: “It is vitally important to us that the overall experience of the centre is a positive one and the standard of food and drink has a large part to play.

“I have experienced UCSP’s offer at their University of Plymouth outlets, and am hugely excited that they will be bringing their expertise to the Cornwall Innovation Centres.”
