The seminar at The Alverton, in Truro, on the morning of September 11, is being hosted by chartered accountancy firm, Robinson Reed Layton, along with The Pensions Regulator and independent financial planning company, Watson French.

Spaces are filling up fast so owners and managers of SMEs are being encouraged to sign up as soon as possible in order to attend and benefit from the expertise on hand.

The latest employer survey undertaken by The Pensions Regulator highlights that the majority of employers due to start operating the scheme (“to stage”) between now and November 2015 have started preparing and are aware of their staging date.  However, employers due to stage in 2016, are not so aware of their upcoming obligations.

Stephen Gainey, partner at Robinson Reed Layton, said: “We are very pleased to welcome The Pensions Regulator to Truro.  As small businesses are the backbone of the Cornish economy, it is vital they are prepared for their Auto Enrolment staging date.

“The Workplace Pension reforms will impact on every business, employer and employee across Cornwall and we want to ensure businesses are aware of and understand the implications of the new Auto Enrolment Rules as well as the effect they will have.

“Although Pensions may not be exciting, they are extremely important. We are therefore pleased to work with Watson French and The Pensions Regulator to raise awareness across the businesses community.”

The seminar aims to address the key points of the new auto enrolment scheme whilst providing advice to those who may be affected.
