Doors open on new Healeys facility

A new state-of-the-art production facility and visitor centre at Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm in Penhallow, near Truro,  opened today (March 26).

The £3.4 million development, which has received financial support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, was officially opened by Alison Webster, director of rural development for the Rural Payments Agency.

Commercial director, Joe Healey, said: “The new facility will make a big difference to our production output and should increase visitor numbers by an additional 100,000 each year.

“As a family we are passionate about Cornwall and committed to making a real contribution to the local economy by providing jobs and enhancing the reputation of the Cornish brand.

“There is a lot to be very proud of in the Duchy and we’re delighted to be playing our part by showcasing a Cornish cydermaking tradition that is in growing demand nationally.”
