The not-for-profit charity was the winner of the Skills for Care Accolades in 2013/14, in recognition of its approach to staff training, and has been named a finalist for the latest awards, which will be announced in March.

Chief executive, Douglas Webb, said: “We recognise that our skilled and dedicated staff share our values and aspiration to transform the quality of life for the people we look after in our care homes and local communities.

“The investment made by Cornwall Care in the training and professional development of our staff translates into a positive experience and benefits for those we care for and their families.”

Skills for Care works in partnership with adult social care employers to develop the skills, knowledge and values of over 1.5 million workers in the country to raise the quality and standards across the whole sector.
