There is a new hand on the tiller at Treworran Garage in Tregony, after the previous owners took the tough decision to retire after 60 years of running the family business.
Johnny Harris and his sister, Angela Grose, of JJ Harris & Son (Engineers) Ltd at Treworran Garage, have sold to an equally passionate family businessman – Barrie Clements.
Treworran Garage is now moving forward under the management and direction of Barrie’s son, Jason Clements, who takes the reins this week to continue what has become “a true Roseland community treasure”.
Harris said: “It’s been an amazing 60 years – an amazing life in fact! I’m very proud of the business we have grown over the years, and we are pleased to hand over what we have built to another family concern.
“Having joined my father straight from school, I worked through the ranks from tea boy, tyre changer, welder, mechanic and MOT tester, to step up to the managerial heights of forecourt manager and managing director.
“The changing face of business over the years has been a challenge to say the least at times, but one I would never change for a moment.”
