A Cornwall-based ice lolly manufacturer is enjoying summer in the city after securing a contract to supply a London bar with frozen cocktail mixers on sticks.

deliPOPS has supplied the bar, Seven at Brixton, with 2,000 mixers made from a recipe of cucumber, lemon, lime and mint.

The St Agnes-based firm was founded last year by husband and wife team Joe and Victoria Waters.

“The business has enjoyed steady growth in its first full year but this contract with Seven Bar Group is a great breakthrough into the London market,” said Joe Waters. “We’re hoping to use this opportunity to propel deliPOPS into the national market.”

Since launching, the business has moved to larger premises and increased production from 1,000 units per week to 7,000. And the expansion has been helped by Oxford Innovation’s Coaching for High Growth programme.

Sarah Wilkinson, an Oxford Innovation business coach with particular expertise in change management, was assigned to work alongside the couple.

She said: “deliPOPS is a business based on a very innovative product concept. Joe and Victoria were clearly enjoying running their own business but the pace of their expansion and the step-changes that were required in production methods meant they needed some support in managing this critical growth period.”
