Cornish expertise has been recruited for the design work on a new approach to Bournemouth Pier.
Cornwall Environmental Consultants (CEC) has been involved in the ambitious Pier Approach project. Proposals, which have been submitted for planning consent, focus on water features and landscaping to reconnect the Lower Gardens with the beach for the first time in over 100 years.
CEC’s team of landscape architects are acting as lead designers working with MeiLoci, Hydrock Engineers, Poynton Bradbury Wynter Cole Architects, Michael Grubb Studio Lighting Designers and Ustigate water feature specialists to deliver the scheme.
Birgit Hontzsch, principal landscape architect and lead consultant for CEC, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen for this project, and look forward to its implementation during autumn and winter of 2014/2015.”
