The Energy Express project was unveiled at the company’s headquarters in Shortlanesend at the start of October.

Local residents are being invited to participate in the trial that will help them save money on their energy bills.

Both SSE and British Gas have just announced bill increases of nearly 10%, leading many experts to predict that other companies will follow suit over the coming months.

Commenting on the initiative, Newton said: “I am pleased that Reflex Marine is giving local residents the chance to participate in an energy savings trial.

“Those involved in the trial will enjoy the benefits of a range of free energy saving measures, and will help to develop new energy saving packages for the future, as part of the Government’s ongoing Green Deal.”

The Energy Express packages are being offered for a limited number of homes in Shortlanesend and selected householders will also receive a free Green Deal Assessment.

CEO and co-founder of Reflex Marine, Philip Strong, said: “We are delighted with the positive response that the project received.”
