Cornwall Farmers has today announced a new alliance with Hutchinsons, a leading national agronomy and agricultural inputs company.

From March 1, the Cornwall Farmers’ arable team and ‘direct to farm’ arable business will transfer to Hutchinsons and operate under the name ‘Hutchinsons in association with Cornwall Farmers’.

Simon Birch, chief executive of Cornwall Farmers, said: “This means that the increasingly complex agronomy needs of our customers will continue to be met by the same team with no interruption in service.

“Working together with Hutchinsons will enable our customers to benefit from an even wider pool of experience and expertise from one of the UK’s most experienced providers of independent agronomic services, and that’s good news for all our agronomy customers.”

The chain of Cornwall Farmers’ local Country Stores will continue trading as usual.

Cornwall Farmers is an agricultural co-operative owned by its 4,200 members, based near Truro in Cornwall. It includes a network of 13 Country Stores across Cornwall and Devon – the largest in the region.
