An increased demand for specialist advice on employment law matters has led to one of Stephens Scown’s solicitors relocating to Cornwall on a permanent basis.

Employment solicitor David Hodge, who is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, has moved to the firm’s Truro office from Exeter. And he believes that clients located in and around the Duchy will benefit significantly from his posting on the ground.

He said: “We’ve seen a big increase in the number of local businesses and individuals looking for specialist advice on employment law matters. Historically, there’s been a lack of solicitors with this level of specialist knowledge generally within Cornwall and I’m fortunate to work within a firm that provides a top-class service they should rightly expect.

“Although I’ve always supported Cornish businesses from the firm’s Exeter office, there has been an increasing call for me to take on a permanent presence in Cornwall and the decision to relocate my base to respond to that demand was an easy one.”
