A Cornish law firm is celebrating 12 years of excellence in staff development.

Coodes Solicitors, which employs 120 staff across its seven offices, has been awarded the Investors In People standard for the 12th consecutive year.

(IIP) is awarded to companies which improve business performance through staff development.

As part of maintaining the standard, interviews took place with staff and partners from a broad cross-section of the firm, from secretaries and trainee solicitors to senior management.

Managing partner Jeremy Harvey said: “This is a fantastic achievement to maintain the IIP standard through a difficult economic climate.

“Like several companies, we have been through a redundancy process but receiving IIP again is a testament to the fact that we treat our staff fairly.

“The feedback we received about our management and processes was superb and reinforces our belief that we are excellent employers and a good firm to work for.”

One of the members of staff described Coodes as “extraordinarily fair”, while another described their manager as “100% fantastic” in their approach to leading a team.

Mr Harvey added: “We have a very strong employer brand, which enables us to recruit and retain excellent staff – we regularly have potential staff members approach us because of our reputation as good employers.”

Coodes Solicitors has seven offices across Cornwall and Devon and offers specialist legal advice in agriculture, commercial, employment, residential and commercial property, family, wills, trusts and probate, personal injury and criminal law.
