One of St Austell’s leading independent estate agents is urging people who are considering selling their properties to come forward.

Liddicoat Sanderson Potter (LSP) has made the call after a busy February when the agency sold 26 properties.

However, despite the success, the agency believes that a shortage of properties coming onto the market could have an impact on the current buoyancy and confidence levels.

“We’ve had a tremendous start to the year,” said LSP partner, David Sanderson.

“February, despite being the shortest month, has been incredible with the amount of sales we have made.

“The main concern now is getting enough properties onto our books to keep up with demand.

“I think there still is a feeling out there that some people are reluctant to have their properties valued in case they find themselves in negative equity.

“But most of our clients have been pleasantly surprised by their valuations and properties that are realistically priced have been selling quickly.”

The company has also been boosted by being sole agent for the new White River Place development of which from the first two phases 24 properties have sold with just four left on the market. The third and final phase is due to be released shortly.
