Nationwide Print in St Austell has installed a brand new photovoltaic (PV) roof that uses natural sunlight to generate power. One of the largest rooftop solar installations in the country, and a bigger contribution to saving the planet than all the environmental accreditation certificates that they have achieved over the last few years.

Julian Hocking, Managing Director says ‘it was a natural progression’.

“We use vegetable based inks, recycled paper, sensor lighting, recycle everything and have a newly installed insulated roof and windows. We now want to generate on our ‘green’ power. We are one of the greenest environmental printers in the country.”

The 150 solar panels will help the company save around 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year. That’s equivalent to the annual electricity usage of four houses.
