A lawyer working for the property team of south west law firm Stephens Scown has just become the only practising licensed conveyancer in St Austell.

Martyn Coad, who works in residential property, has been awarded the specialist lawyer status and is now trained and qualified in all aspects of the law dealing with property matters.

To become a Licensed Conveyancer, Coad had to successfully complete his examinations with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) and undertake the practical training requirements. The licence also means he is now a Commissioner for Oaths.

The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) is the regulatory body for Licensed Conveyancers who are qualified specialist property lawyers.
