St Mary’s Haven, a care home in Penzance, is under new ownership.

The home, which was formerly owned by the Diocese of Plymouth and operated by the Sanctuary Housing Group, was acquired by regional operators, John and Mary Anson. The Ansons currently operate several care homes across Cornwall.

Jonathan Southgate, business agent in Christie & Co’s Exeter office, which handled the sale, said: “We are delighted for the current owners who have found a committed and determined buyer in the Ansons. We feel that John and Mary will take this business from strength to strength and build on the home’s strong reputation.

“This sale demonstrates the life in the market, the aspirations held by regional operators in the south west of England and the banks’ willingness to continue their investment in the healthcare sector despite market headwinds.”
