Cornwall Food & Drink and the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce have announced an expansion of their Choose Cornish campaign.

The Choose Cornish campaign is intended to boost the local economy by encouraging people to consider using local suppliers.

Over the two and a half years since it was launched, it has had a strong emphasis on Cornwall’s food and drink.

However, Cornwall Food & Drink and Cornwall Chamber of Commerce announced at a special St Piran’s Day event held in Newlyn this morning, that the campaign will now be growing, under the direction of the chamber, and extending its reach into all parts of the economy.

Chief executive, Kim Conchie, said: “We are thrilled to be extending the Choose Cornish campaign to cover all businesses in the Duchy.

“We really want to expand the brand and promote the importance of sourcing locally – not just food and drink, in order to benefit Cornwall’s economy.

“Our plans include more events which showcase the fantastic products and services we have in Cornwall and Scilly, and we will also be running a variety of training programmes focusing on developing local supply chains.”
