HRH Princess Alexandra was in Bodmin yesterday to enjoy a tour of the Proper Cornish production line.
The Princess was welcomed by MD Phil Ugalde and was given a grand tour of the traditional Cornish pasty bakery, chatting to staff as she went and even taking time out to learn how to hand crimp a pasty.
Ugalde commented: “Having Princess Alexandra to visit was an absolute pleasure. The afternoon went without a hitch and the Princess was completely charming and thoroughly interested in the staff. She spent over an hour chatting to everyone and took the time to learn how to crimp a pasty by hand, which, I might add, she was very good at!”
