Another seven members of staff have earned their five-year badges at The Headland hotel in Newquay – bringing the total number of employees who have worked there for more than five years to 29, almost a fifth of the workforce.

The hotel’s owners, John and Carolyn Armstrong, hold a special dinner to acknowledge their long-serving staff each year. In recognition of the milestone achieved, each person is also presented with a tin badge in the shape of the letter H.

New recipients this year are Aurelija Grikstiene, Chaker Hidri, Patrycja Lewit, Patricie Zeleznikova, Julie Cole, Janos Veller and Agnes Kovacs.

“Many congratulations to everyone who got their five-year Headland tin badge,” said HR learning and development manager, Michelle Brown.

“If you include Mr and Mrs Armstrong who have been here for nearly 40 years, our 2017 event represented 362 years of combined service – a statistic we’re very proud of.”

To honour the long-serving team members, a five-course dinner was served in the hotel’s private dining suite.
