The Headland Hotel has been named as one of the best places to work in the country within the hospitality industry.

The Newquay hotel was ranked as the 14th best place to work in hospitality nationwide by industry magazine The Caterer.

To mark the accolade, yesterday (May 5) the hotel invited staff to celebrate with a Cornish tea party.

It was a chance for everyone at the hotel to celebrate with some long-standing members of staff particularly proud of the achievement.

The longest-term member of staff at The Headland was already with the hotel when the current owners bought the property 37 years ago, and today Hedley Kent remains as a trusted kitchen porter.

General manager, Darryl Reburn, said: “To be named number 14 in the top places to work by The Caterer is really a great achievement. It’s vital to us here that our staff are happy and confident everyday and this really shows we are reaching that goal.”
