New members of staff at Retallack Resort and Spa are being put through their paces ahead of the launch of Cornwall’s first giant inflatable Aqua Park at Easter.
16 new jobs have been created at the Cornish resort near Padstow thanks to the investment into the Total Wipeout-style course, the first of its kind for the south west.
The resort is providing first aid and open water lifeguarding training to all the new recruits, providing them with all the right qualifications and experience.
All of the staff have been trained by Darren Squires from South West First Aid Training. He said: “The team had limited first aid or open water lifeguarding training, so they were really thrown in at the deep end so to speak!
“After an intense six-day course, consisting of four separate assessments, everyone has passed and are now ready for the last stage of onsite training once the equipment is installed.
“Everyone has been fantastic and all have taken to the training really well. We want everyone to have fun on the Aqua Park, but safety is paramount.”
The Retallack Aqua Park will be ready for the Easter Holidays, opening on March 25 for guests and locals.
