Tunnel vision by Charmaine Mitchell (winner)

A stunning image capturing the hustle and bustle of St Ives harbour has won Visit Cornwall’s first ever Cornwall Photo Competition.

Taken by Charmaine Mitchell from Evesham in Worcestershire during an annual family-holiday to Cornwall, the image was shot from one of the tunnels under the pier on Harbour Beach in St Ives.

The photo won Charmaine a luxurious three-night family stay at Dreamcatchers, courtesy of St Mawes Retreats.

Visit Cornwall singled it out for its creativity and for capturing the essence of Cornwall from over 2,000 entries submitted via Twitter, Instragram and email over the summer.

Lowenna Pascoe, Visit Cornwall’s marketing manager, said: “Thousands of images are taken across Cornwall everyday in the summer, especially in St Ives which has got to be one of our most photographed spots. We were looking for something a little different, a showcase for Cornwall’s uniqueness, and the entries didn’t disappoint.”
