Accommodation providers are invited to join Visit Cornwall at a series of sector specific meetings to discuss the challenges facing tourism businesses.

The seven meetings taking place at the end of November/early December have been designed to reflect and address the varying needs of different accommodation types. There will be separate sessions for hotels and B&B’s, as well as for the self-catering, camping and caravanning, and holiday parks and resorts sectors. There will also be an event for those working marketing and PR tourism roles.

Informal and interactive, the meetings are aimed at members of Visit Cornwall or those interested in joining, and will include an introduction to the Visit Cornwall website which is re-launching for 2016, and an update on the £5 million overseas marketing fund for the south west announced by Nick Clegg earlier this year.

There will also be an opportunity for businesses to discuss Visit Cornwall’s future priorities and highlight industry services that they would like to see Visit Cornwall provide.

Chief executive, Malcolm Bell, said: “By making these meetings sector specific they will be highly relevant to the business needs, target customers and objectives of the attendees.

“They will also offer a fantastic opportunity for similar tourism businesses to network, share best practice and ultimately come together to celebrate what they do.”
