The new Shaun the Sheep Experience at Land’s End proves there is “significant confidence” by a “national brand” in Cornwall, according to the head of Visit Cornwall.

The iconic Land’s End signpost was rebranded Lamb’s End today (March 11) to mark the official opening of the attraction.

The half a million pound investment is a joint venture between Aardman Animations and Heritage Great Britain plc.

Malcolm Bell, head of Visit Cornwall said: “The Shaun the Sheep experience offers a new dimension to one of Cornwall’s most iconic landmarks.

“The half million pound investment represents significant confidence in Cornwall and to have a national brand such as Aardman Animations in Cornwall is a major coup.

“I’m sure it will attract many new visitors to Land’s End both young and young at heart.”

The attraction was opened by Aardman co-founders Peter Lord CBE and David Sproxton CBE.

Speaking at the launch, Sproxton said: “It’s been a phenomenal year already for Shaun and we’re so pleased he’s been welcomed with such enthusiasm by visitors to Land’s End.

“There’s no doubt that both Shaun and Shirley are enjoying the fresh air and munching on the odd Cornish pasty or two.”
