Helston-based holiday lettings agency Classic Cottage has launched a new initiative to reach out to the German tourism market.
It has partnered with UrlaubCornwall, an online resource for German speakers looking to come on holiday in Cornwall and the south west.
UrlaubCornwall’s website is hosting Classic Cottages’ entire portfolio of holiday properties, fully translated into German.
According to figures, nearly 40% of all overseas visitors to Cornwall are from Germany, Austria or Switzerland with their numbers growing 10% in the last three years. Domestic visitors have fallen by the same amount in that time, making these international markets a priority for Cornish business.
UrlaubCornwall has the #1 site on the internet in German-speaking Europe for holidays in Cornwall. The Classic Cottages catalogue adds to UrlaubCornwall’s extensive tourist information and services, featuring Cornwall’s best hotels, B&Bs, activities and attractions.
Niall MacDougall, managing director of UrlaubCornwall, said: “We have worked with Classic Cottages for the last 18 months and have now taken the big step to create them a whole section of the website.
“German speakers are able to search through all 750 cottages that Classic feature in their own language to find exactly the right place.”
