Designed by Bude-based architecture practice, The Bazeley Partnership, the new facilities will also feature a wedding venue, conference centre, restaurants, and community facilities.

The Bazeley Partnership has been working with the owners of Carbis Bay Hotel for the last two years to design and develop the scheme, which is phased for construction over the next 3 years.

Martin Back, lead architect and director of the practice, said: “The Carbis Bay Hotel project is a wonderful and exciting opportunity for our architects to create an inclusive development which has at its heart sustainability, and is also dynamic and responsive to a beautiful and unique beachside location.”

Carbis Bay Hotel MD, Stephen Baker, added: “I must commend The Bazeley Partnership on the effective and successful design and their awareness of the natural constraints in such a sensitive area of outstanding beauty.

“This is a major development plan for our St Ives Bay and indeed for Cornwall and without their advice and assistance on the numerous design, development and planning stages procurement of this project would not have been possible.”

Construction on the first phase of the development is due to commence in the autumn.
