Major building works have started at Land’s End Airport to transform the airport terminal building into a modern, timber frame, purpose built passenger facility. The new building will include a new passenger terminal and cafe, a modern baggage handling facility, a dedicated arrivals area, a new Air Traffic Control, upgraded car parks and security and hangar improvements.

The redevelopment of Land’s End Airport has been planned for a number of years. Commenting on the investment, company Chief Executive, Jeff Marston said,

“Land’s End Airport is a core part of our business and we wanted to secure its long-term future. The new facilities will enable us to provide an improved passenger experience, fresh and vibrant surroundings and the option for businesses to use the space for business events with a cafe area which can cater for up to 30 people.”

The works, which include demolition of the existing air traffic control tower, removal of onsite buildings and construction of new passenger terminal, including cafe and car parking area, will be completed in time for the 2013 season.
