Watergate Bay Hotel has completed the final stage of its redevelopment with the opening of a £3 million project to create new “active relaxation spaces” and an infinity swimming pool.

The 25 metre pool, treatment rooms and guest lounge all enjoy views over the bay, while a new boardwalk gives ‘surf-in/surf-out’ access for guests to make use of surfboard storage, beach changing and wetsuit drying facilities.

The outside has also been transformed with a new hotel entrance, a classic timber boardwalk direct to the beach, poolside terraces and a traditional Canadian hot tub.

MD Will Ashworth called in the design team behind London’s Shoreditch House to help realise the company’s vision on the project. He said: “Our brief was to combine all the elements that make Watergate Bay so special – the beach, the sea and the beach sports.

“This is active, social relaxation in a truly inspiring location; creating ‘beach-house comfort’ with lots of light, open spaces, complemented by rich textures and colours.”
