The new managers of a luxury B&B in south Cornwall are looking to turn it into a thriving year-round business.
The Vean, nestled in stunning countryside at the heart of Cornwall’s historic Caerhays estate, offers five-star accommodation and attracts a wide range of guests – from shooting parties and corporate teams to wedding guests and walkers.
Karl and Nicola Humphries want to build the business in all areas. Karl commented: “We have the potential to be full all year and the way we do that is through excellent service. When people come here we want them to feel they have all the time in the world and they get nothing but the best treatment.”
Moving to The Vean is a big departure from Karl Humphries’ previous job, which was food and beverage manager for a leading holiday park “where the idea was to get people in and out as quickly as possible”.
Not so at The Vean, and he said: “Service and quality are our main priorities. There is a definite market for it and we intend to tap into it.”
