Luxury accommodation provider Unique Home Stays has announced a big increase in business over the first two months of 2012, in the wake of its appearance on primetime television.

The company, based near Newquay, featured heavily on ITV1’s ‘Cornwall’ documentary, presented by Caroline Quentin, which aired from January 1 to February 21.

During this period, Unique Home Stays secured 71.9% more bookings across its portfolio compared to the same time frame last year, while bookings for January alone were up by 97.4%.

And overall property owner revenue has more than doubled so far this year compared to 2011.

The company’s data shows that almost a quarter of all bookings taken within this period came as a direct result of the TV show. Its web stats also reveal that total visits to the company’s website increased by almost 250% from the previous month’s figure.

Managing director Sarah Stanley said: “We’re delighted that we were chosen to appear in the show and have received so much positive feedback from existing customers and new customers alike.

“We have started 2012 in a great position, but we can guarantee that the prominence gained from this TV coverage will not be short-lived; we will continue to market our properties to the full throughout the year and into 2013, in order to ensure that bookings continue to flourish.”
