Two Cornish businesses have come together to form a partnership as a direct result of the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) scheme.

Cornish Cottages and Treasure Trails are launching a joint ‘Discover Cornwall’ competition which will see both companies working together to promote Cornwall as an exciting visitor destination to consumers across the UK.

Laura Bower and Sharon Sandercock, who both joined their respective companies through UCP, hit upon the idea after meeting at a UCP event.

Bower, marketing manager for Treasure Trails, a Truro-based company which creates themed walking trails, said: “We are always looking for fun and unusual ways to promote our Trails to both tourists and locals. Running a joint promotion with Cornish Cottages seemed like an excellent way to offer our existing customers something extra, as well as get our products in front of people who had never heard of us before.”

Sandercock, marketing and communications manager at Cornish Cottages, added: “In the current economic climate collaboration is a valuable and cost effective way to find new customers. Working with Treasure Trails allows us to promote our business to a wider community.”

The competition, which is launched this week, offers customers the chance to win a week’s stay at one of Cornish Cottages’ properties, along with a bespoke Treasure Trail to help them explore Cornwall while enjoying their stay.
