Specialist self-catering lettings company Classic Cottages has announced it is looking for a new managing director.
After 30 years of growth and development, the Helston-based company has decided that the time is right to invest in a restructuring of its management.
Simon Tregoning, who celebrates his 20 year milestone with Classic Cottages in 2010, will move on from his current role as MD to become chairman and will have a role, along with the new MD, in setting the culture, brand values and strategic direction of the company.
The holiday cottage lettings agency has around 700 high-quality properties in its portfolio across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Commenting on the decision, Simon Tregoning said: “We have a really strong plan for the future development of Classic Cottages and I’m determined that we will continue to develop and innovate. I want to devote more of my time and energy to this end, with a strong emphasis on our marketing strategy. To give myself the freedom to fulfill this role whilst keeping the company moving forward, I’ve decided the time is right to look for a managing director– this is an investment in our continued success.
“Personal qualities will count more than direct experience, however, the new person will need to demonstrate a strong record of achievement, the ability to innovate and have considerable skills in leading a talented team of people.”
The salary will be £75k per annum with additional pension and bonus benefits.
