The Natural Store, one of Cornwall’s oldest independent health food stores, is relocating its Falmouth operation to larger premises on Market Strand, closer to the town’s prime pedestrianised retail pitch.

The business, which also has stores in Helston and St Austell, has agreed terms with property consultant Alder King on 5 Market Strand in Falmouth, a 2,744 sq ft mid-terraced property previously occupied by the British Heart Foundation.

It has taken the property on a new ten-year lease off a quoting rent of £32k per annum.

The Natural Store has been based in a tertiary retail position on Falmouth’s Old High Street since 1996, taking over the business which began as The Granary in the late 1970’s.  In 2006 it expanded by taking the adjacent property to increase its range of wholefoods, bodycare and supplements.

The move to Market Strand offers the business a more prominent position within the town, with higher visibility and footfall and the opportunity to open a new café on the upper floors, subject to planning.
