A Cornish business has been ranked as the biggest mid-market growth company in the south west.
Published this weekend, the 12th annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain’s private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales.
The 16 companies headquartered in the south west (compared to 15 last year) have made a strong contribution to the local economy. The companies increased combined sales 14% to £3.9 billion and operating profits 19% to £175 million, and they employ almost 23,000 people.
The biggest mid-market growth company in the region, and ranked 14th overall in Britain, is based right here in Cornwall – car dealer Helston Garages, which has 37 car dealerships throughout the West Country.
It is the only company to appear on all 12 Top Track 250 league tables, and features this year with sales of £518 million, up 10% on the year before.
