Europe’s biggest shoe retailer, Deichmann shoes, has opened its doors in Truro.

The store has created 15 permanent jobs for the local area, including two supervisor positions in addition to shop floor and cashier roles.

The retail giant’s new 600m2 unit is located on King Street and is the company’s 97th store opening in the UK.

The shop itself has undergone a complete, £475k refurbishment, and is the first of its kind for Deichmann, with all the stock available on the shop floor so that customers can easily locate and try on the style and size of their choice.

Store manager, Michaela Martin, said: “We’re really excited to have opened our doors on King Street. Our store is the first of its kind for Deichmann and we can’t wait for people to see it. We are also thrilled to have been able to help create some new local jobs.”
