A long-established Cornwall-based interior fabric and design company is reporting fast growth after winning an international award.

Cotton Mills, based in Truro city centre, has seen turnover double in the last three months since winning the “Best of Houzz” award for customer satisfaction.

The award was voted for by Cotton Mills’ customers on Houzz.co.uk – a web platform for home renovation and design that is described as the Trip Advisor of the interior design world.

Ali Cary, director of Cotton Mills, said: “We’re thrilled that winning this award has helped us with our business growth.

“We work closely with our clients to give them the home or business décor that they want.

“It is fantastic that our customers have gone out of their way to write five-star reviews on Houzz.”

The second-generation business, which has over 30 year’s experience, began life as a fabric and soft furnishing retailer, before expanding into interior design.

As a result of sales growth in the last quarter, Cary has expanded her staff at Cotton Mills to six, and the team of specialist curtain makers and upholsterers has been increased from three to seven over the last 12 months.

Interior design clients include the St Austell Brewery, Bosinver Farm Cottages, Inns of Cornwall and Lower Barns.
