A Cornish woman is gaining national recognition for her innovative designs of baby bibs and blankets.

Mum-of-four Kate Wedlake, who runs her business Cornish Daisy from her home near Helston, started making bibs to match the handmade clothes she would make for her daughter four years ago.

She has now won a Silver and Gold award with parenting website Bizziebaby.co.uk, having received rave reviews from parenting blogs.

She said: “It’s such a proud moment. I just started making bibs for my daughter so they matched her clothes, because she was a particularly dribbly, baby, and now I have fans all over the country.”

Wedlake’s work was spotted back in 2010 by the owner children’s shop Fabulous Kids, who immediately asked her to make up a bundle of bibs to sell in her stores in St Ives and St Erth.

Cornish Daisy products are now stocked at 15 shops, both in Cornwall and as far away as Dorchester and Lancashire.

She added: “I hadn’t wanted to start a business so early, at least not until my daughter started school. But the reviewers are absolutely loving the bibs.”

My niece has a dribble bib, I have looked at others and they just do not compare in quality!
