Brewery beer voucher scheme

St Austell Brewery has come up with a novel way for customers to beat next week’s Budget – discount beer vouchers.

People will be able to buy a special £10 set of vouchers for the rest of March, redeeming them for four pints of their favourite St Austell Ale in April.

The discount vouchers mean drinkers will be able to buy a pint for just £2.50. It is anticipated that beer tax will be put up as part of the Budget on Wednesday.

MD James Staughton said: “This is a unique way to thank our customers for their loyalty, by giving them a chance to buy their favourite drink at pre-Budget prices.”

Vouchers can be exchanged for a pint of any St Austell Ale, Carlsberg, Strongbow or Coca Cola, and are limited to one set of four vouchers per person.

The idea comes after Staughton backed a national call for a freeze in beer tax, saying a proposed massive increase in beer tax was the “last thing” the trade needs.

“Freezing beer tax would help St Austell Brewery grow and contribute to the wider economy, while halting pub closures and helping safeguard jobs,” he said.
