Warrens Bakery has officially opened its new cupcake café in Penzance – just in time for National Cupcake Week (September 14- 19).
Sprinkles Cupcake Café, in Market Jew Street, offers customers more than a dozen different cupcake varieties to choose from including passionfruit, tiramisu, caramel, chocolate and raspberry in stylish surroundings.
The first-floor café, with full length bow-fronted windows, features a modern mix of comfy sofas and high tables. Customers can watch lifestyle television programmes on plasma screens while enjoying their favourite cupcake and cup of speciality Origin coffee.
Sprinkles manager, Andrea Cornish, said cupcake cafes are becoming more and more popular throughout the country.
“The craze for cupcake cafes started in America but in recent years more and more are popping up all over the UK. They’re particularly popular in London so it’s great to be able to open one here in Penzance.
“Our aim is to create a very individual personality and ambience here at Sprinkles and it’s proving very popular with customers,” she added.
National Cupcake Week is a week-long extravaganza being organised by British Baker to celebrate this very special bakery product. There will be special cupcake promotions throughout the week and a window display will be launched on Monday to be entered into a national competition.
