Cornwall Council has published details of where an additional £24 million of saving could be made to its budget.

The Council’s first draft budget document suggests a number of proposals, including cutting nearly £12 million from Adult Care and Health; bus services by a further £1 million, and doubling the controversial Newquay Airport development fee from £5 to £10.

The Council said: “The Cabinet is now publishing this first draft of the 2014 / 2015 budget, setting out the key areas where the £24 million additional savings required could be made, to give local residents, businesses, partners and Council staff the opportunity to give their views.”
