TJ International has sponsored production of an anniversary publication for Port Isaac RNLI, The Illustrated History of Port Isaac Lifeboat Station.

A special edition of the book was presented to His Royal Highness, Prince Charles during his recent visit in Cornwall.

TJ has produced a split edition run using its latest investment in short run premium colour. The production involved 50 limited edition copies that were hand bound by Peter Leach, TJ’s business leader.

He said: “We were thrilled to have been given the opportunity to get involved with this fantastic community project.

“A great collaborative initiative showcasing unique skills; a combination of cutting-edge print technology with traditional craft binding skills.”

Specially embroidered and personalised cloth for bookbinding was donated by Wovina, an embroidery service company based in Bodmin.

Bob Bulgin, chair of Port Isaac RNLI, who presented Prince Charles with a personalised copy of his new book, said: “It was a great honour that the Prince came to see us at the station. It is 28 years since we had our last royal visitor. It was a great pleasure to present the book to him.”
