The Cornwall Manufacturers Group (CMG) will be holding its inaugural awards dinner next month.
The awards scheme is open to any manufacturing company based in Cornwall with more than ten employees and companies do not have to be members of the Cornwall Manufacturers Group to enter.
There are eight categories up for grabs – Large Manufacturer of the Year (over 50 employees); Small Manufacturer (10-49 employees); Exporter of the Year; Business Leadership; Innovation; Environmental Project; Trainee of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.
Eric Nicholls, chief executive of Helston based Spiral Construction and chair of the CMG, said: “For many years we have been avid supporters of the Cornwall Business Awards, and continue to be so, but those awards cover the whole gamut of industry and commerce in Cornwall with manufacturers playing a very small part.
“We have had success over the years but members felt it would be good to have an awards event that concentrated on the success of manufacturing in Cornwall.”
Deadline for entering the awards is October 31, with the dinner taking place at the Penventon Hotel in Redruth on November 27,
