Redruth-based DM Orthotics has been shortlisted for the Sports Technology Awards, which are to be hosted in London this April.

DM Orthotics manufactures Lycra- based splints which aid people with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Sclerosis.

Over 200 companies submitted entries for the awards, with only 80 being shortlisted as finalists within 18 categories.

DM Orthotics has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Technology across Multiple Sports – Medical & Health’ category, for the innovative technology behind its DMO Sport range, which has been used by a number of professional footballers and rugby players as well as members of the 2012 GB Olympic and Paralympic teams.

Director, Martin Matthews, commented: “We are absolutely delighted that we have been shortlisted for these awards and it shows that we have some really cutting edge products which have the ability to enhance athlete’s performance.

“We face some tough competition within the category we are in, but to make it this far is a real achievement.”
