The average age at KCS Trade print among its 27 staff is under 35, with the latest member to have joined being 17-year old apprentice Karl Worgan.

Worgan has been undertaking apprenticeship training in house with British Print Industry Federation assessors. Production manager Simon Schofield explained: “Karl is learning the print process from the beginning starting with continuous stationery.

“With all the doom and gloom it is great to be able to invest in future training of young staff. This work-based programme focuses on both technical competencies and inter-personal skills which will give Karl confidence as well as experience.”

KCS is now looking for a new apprentice to train in its digital and finishing departments.
