The countdown has begun for one St Austell-based company as it gets ready to move to its new £6.2 million home.

St Austell Printing Company (SAPC), which has been based in the town centre for 30 years, will officially begin life at the new St Austell Business Park at Carclaze on Monday, March 25.

With less than two weeks to go the team are currently ironing out final issues and gradually starting to take up residence at the new site, which also has 22 office and studio units for a mix of other businesses.

Getting ready for St Austell Printing Company’s move are Mark Naylor (Reproduction Department), Ian Dibb (Digital Department), Dan Ferguson Smith (Print Department) and Mary Allen (Accounts Department)

SAPC’s managing director, Peter Moody, said: “It’s quite a challenging time at the moment!

“We’re trying to make sure work is finished on the business park and that any final snags in the building are addressed before the whole team move in.

“We’re also trying to make sure all the technical details, like having a working telephone line and internet, which are very important aspects to business these days, are in place as well.

“I’ll be glad when we’re in and everything is fully functioning so I can get some sleep!”

One member of the team to already relocate is Kevin Brockenshire, the production and reprographics manager.

He moved to the site following the installation of two litho printers, a compactor and a guillotine worth £1.2 million.

He said: “We’re now starting to work between both sites and it’s great to be in here at last. The new facilities are fantastic and we’re excited to be here.”
