A&P Falmouth is busy preparing for the arrival of P&O Cruise’s newest ship, Adonia, which is en route to the port to undergo unscheduled repairs.

The 30,000 tonne ship is due to arrive in Falmouth on Sunday, where she will be dry docked at A&P.

It will be all hands on deck at the yard, as A&P has a four-day deadline to complete the essential work before Adonia begins an 87-night world cruise next Friday (January 13) from Southampton.

David Daniel, A&P’s commercial director, said: “We have given a big commitment to complete the work within four days, and we will work around the clock to get it finished on time.

“As this is an unscheduled docking, we have had to re-shuffle other vessels in the docks, with the approval of their owners, to accommodate Adonia at last minute.

“It is a high-profile visit for Falmouth, and we are expecting a great deal of public interest.”

Adonia, which can carry up to 710 passengers, will be highly visible on the Falmouth skyline and is expected to tower over the docks.
