Jobs go at printing firm

58 jobs are set to go at a Roche-based printing firm.

Wyndeham Press, which acquired the St Ives Web businesses in the spring, yesterday announced its intentions to make the redundancies at its Cornwall operation and that a 30-day consultation process had started.

As expected, the UK print giant has wasted little time in rationalising its latest acquisition, revealing in May its plans to close its Plymouth facility with the loss of 145 jobs.

Chief executive Paul Utting said the web offset sector was under “severe stress” following increases in raw material, coupled with the falling orders.
