The president of the Law Society dropped into some of Cornwall’s longest-established law firms last week.

Paul Marsh stopped by Truro-based firms Nalders and Stephens Scown, and had a lunch meeting with Foot Anstey Hancock Caffin.

He also visited the Coodes offices, meeting managing partner Jeremy Harvey and his staff. Harvey commented: “The president spent time talking to each of our staff, from our partners and heads of department to trainees who are just embarking on their legal careers.

“Mr Marsh was very interested to hear firsthand how the economic downturn is affecting Cornish legal firms, particularly in residential conveyancing and wills.

“We hope these conversations will be fed through to influencers and decision makers at the Law Society so they can effectively support our industry through these challenging times.”
