Local landlord Coastline Housing has been awarded just over £10million in grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to build more new homes in the county.
This funding will enable the delivery of 326 much-needed affordable homes for Coastline during 2015 and 2018.
Ann Cornelius, Chief Executive at Coastline, said: “This is fantastic news not just for Coastline, but for local individuals and families who are in desperate need of an affordable home in the county they know and love.
“As we all know, high house prices in Cornwall have excluded many from ever being able to buy their own home, and thousands of people are currently waiting on the register of housing need for rented housing. This latest programme of development will ensure that hundreds more people can be given affordable, high quality, housing in Cornwall.”
The £10million grant funding sets a new record for Coastline, being 250% higher than any previous funding bid for new homes secured by the company.
