A local film production company is heralding the impact that superfast broadband has had on its business.

Since Falmouth-based creative production studio, Dogbite, had a fibre-to-the-premises connection installed, it has enjoyed speeds of 300 Mbps, which, says MD Michelle Taylor, has transformed the way the company has been able to work.

She said: “Superfast broadband has given our business a terrific boost, allowing us to work more productively and putting us in a position where we can win higher value contracts.

“We regularly transfer large files with clients and suppliers in London and elsewhere in the UK. With regular broadband, this often took upwards of five or six hours just to transfer a single film.

“Now we can transfer a whole set of deliverables in the time it takes us to have a tea break! Just this week, one of our London-based clients was delighted because we were able to send a film through to them in less than 20 minutes.

“Film production is a competitive industry and this connectivity means we can compete on a more level playing field with leading production companies and agencies in London.”
